Our Empowering Young Women Through Sports and Character Development At our core, we are dedicated to fostering a supportive environment where young women can thrive. Our mission transcends the pursuit of medals; we focus on building character, confidence, and lifelong friendships. Join us in creating a community that champions personal growth and empowerment, ensuring every girl feels valued and inspired to reach her full potential.

OurBattle Maidens was established by Mark Grano and Brian Carr in response to the stark inequities they witnessed in local youth sports. Time and again, girls’ programs—particularly softball—were marginalized, receiving fewer resources, less communication, and diminished respect compared to their male counterparts. Efforts to advocate for change through official channels were met with silence, dismissal, or directives that applied double standards to the girls’ teams. It became clear that the system was not just neglectful but inherently unequal. Rather than accept these conditions, we chose to challenge them. Battle Maidens was born out of the belief that young female athletes deserve the same opportunities, respect, and investment as any other athlete. Our mission is to build a program where girls are empowered, developed, and championed—both on the field and within the broader culture of sport. We are currently looking to fill our Spring 2026 roster.
